Spring is finally here, and I'm enjoying wearing clothes without thermals underneath. I'm looking longingly at my bike, getting excited about ride friendly weather. I've had this top for quite a while, but this is honestly the first time I have worn it. It's taken me 2 years to figure out how to style it, and I'm quite happy with the result.
Inspiration for styling it came from the blog of Madison Steward. After seeing her post with similar colours it was like a lightbulb going on in my head. I had a similar scarf to hers, but was really challenged by the collar on my blouse because it's the best part of the outfit. So I moved the scarf around, trying to find all the ways it could work with the outfit.
As usual, Suttons House of Music were incredibly accommodating for us to shoot these pictures. The colours ended up working brilliantly.
I've been working on my history internship. It's a challenging project, recording people's personal histories with a particular building in their own words. The building is quite controversial, so the histories are of particular significance. The future of the building is being decided on, and whatever the outcome, these interviews will have a great social value. It's challenging to interview people and to encourage them to talk, and it's also hard work to transcribe the interviews. I'm studying full time and working full time but loving all of it.
Next week I'm heading to the Telstra Perth Fashion Festival, which I'm excited about because I get to see friends that I have missed, a city I have missed, and also enjoy some much needed down time.
