Cupcake Decorating

At the end of the cupcake decorating class, I had 5 colourful cupcakes.

One with spots. This one was possibly the coolest one I made.

One with sparkles and piping.

A pink one with chocolate bits and a swirl.

One with stars. I even coloured the icing myself.

And a ladybug.

One of his little antenna broke off.

I had a lot of fun and made a lot of mess. I'm also crossing my fingers that I can do the Cert III in Patisserie next year.

Some cool things I have discovered thanks to this class:

Le Kitchen in Ballarat teaches the Winton cake decorating method. They also sell a HEAP of decorating stuff.

You can get baking, cake decorating and pop cake equipment online at Cakes Around Town.

I also stumbled across this on their website...

That is a cake tin to make a Giant Cupcake shaped cake. They are marked on the website as Coming Soon for $39.95. I drooled over it for a little while this afternoon. About 2 hours ago in Kmart, I found one the same for $6.
